Tournament Director's Notes

Hi Laguna Open players and welcome to Laguna Beach for the 2021 Laguna Open. Tradition and history run deep here and all the best American players have come through Laguna at one time or another. We're proud to host, in partnership with the AVP and The City of Laguna Beach, the world's longest running men's tournament in the Laguna Open since 1955. The women's Laguna Open has run since 1975. For the first time, we're holding the men's and women's Laguna Opens on the same weekend, October 22-24. Friday October 22 is a qualifier playing for four spots in the main draw, for all men's and women's teams seeded lower than 8th. The main draw will be 12 teams starting Saturday AM. The top four seeds in the main draw will have a first round bye. The qualifier will be either one game to 28 or a best of 3 match, depending on how much daylight we have. PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST REGISTER BY WEDNESDAY BY NOON TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE MAIN DRAW. You will be notified by Thursday afternoon by email if you need to qualify for the main draw. Check in time is 8:00 AM on Friday for qualifiers. Please arrive by 8:30 on Saturday and Sunday for check-in. If you have any problems with registration, contact the tournament director at to get on the waiting list. There are about 17 restaurants within a one minute walk, including two Starbucks within 100 yards of each other, and parking is available in a structure just to the south of Main Beach on Glenneyre Street, one block off Coast Highway. There are also many available metered spaces which will be open in the AM. Free parking can be found up Park Avenue by the high school. We'll have ice water, bananas, snacks and gatorade mix in the player's tent. See you on the sand! Kirk Morgan
