Tournament Director's Notes

This year's Laguna Open is celebrating our 64th year, the longest running open tournament in the world! We'll also be celebrating the late, great Gene Selznick and honoring him by naming our new perpetual men's tournament trophy after him. Gene won the first seven Laguna Opens, starting in 1955 and with various partners. We're steadily raising prize money from sponsors as we speak and we can guarantee a prize purse of $8,000 (as of 3/7/18) and the odds are it will be over $10,000 by tournament time. The Laguna Open accepts entries from all teams, but only the top 24 CBVA or AVP ranked teams, along with the top 4 rated local teams, qualify for the main draw. If you enter and don't qualify, you'll receive a full refund, and be notified by email on Friday June 1, before 4:00 PM.

FROM NORTH: Take the 405 or 5 to the 133 Freeway towards Laguna Beach;  Go 9 miles to the water and you dead-end into Main Beach; Tournament check in is at the south end of Main Beach;  Parking is meters or lots (usually $10 all day) and you can park in the neighborhoods above Cliff Drive or off Park Avenue for free and walk to the site. FROM THE SOUTH: If you're coming from San Diego up through San Clemente, exit at Beach Cities Exit (just north of San Clemente) and go north on Coast Highway through Dana Point and into Laguna;  Travel 11 miles into downtown Laguna and park as noted above; If you're coming coming North from San Juan Capistrano or Mission Viejo, you can also take the 405 to the 133 and go West 9 miles to the water.
